About Me

Tesla Coil Experience
I've been building coils since 2001. I started with a spark gap coil with plans from a book I bought. It didn't turn out as good or as bad as it could have but it did work so I was happy, until it the transformer died. I was however disappointed in its short run times.
I received a bad shock off the high voltage transformer and attached capacitors. I took a short break from coiling. Later, once I got my internet setup I began researching things and came across a website explaining solid state Tesla Coils. I was very excited because they didn't seem to have any of the shortcomings that the spark gap type did. I researched the idea for months on end. I did not copy any designs but came up with several (failures) of my own until I eventually got a working version which produced 3 foot long, 1 inch thick arcs. With a slow pulse rate. I pushed the coil so hard and eventually killed it. From that point forward I was obsessed with solid state coiling.
There had been another seller of solid state coils on eBay. My coils offered a different approach and figured I would do the same and sell mine so that other people interested in solid state coiling could bypass some of the trial and error I went through. I was determined to create them with a much higher quality, not some hobby looking rats nest. He no longer sells coils. So I am the only source there.
Over the past years, I have dumped lots of money into building my coils. They have evolved so much since I started. I built a CNC router from scratch and set up a lathe for spinning my own toroids. I do everything myself from schematic capture, PCB layout, frame design and construction, circuit testing, PCB assembly, the secondary winding, toroid spinning and finally the coils final assembly. Primarily Tesla coiling is just a hobby, It is not an easy hobby when you first get started. Especially Solid state tesla coils. There will be much heartache blood sweat and tears as well as piles of dead silicon.
Recent Updates 08/1/2022
I am currently working full time as a hardware Engineer. I Just finished a bachelors in computer science and I am looking for another job opportunity that will let me hone in my programming skills. I am also I am open to hardware design position using Altium Designer which is among one of my new skills along with C# and C++ programming. I also want to get into some AI and game design on the side. Anyone looking to do a collaborate on some cool new ideas, projects. Whether it be game design or electronics related send me a message on the contact page!
I no longer sell the Screamers or their parts but I can still offer help and or advice on building them or any other Tesla coil I still have all the files an knowledge of them and can still resurrect them if needed or if anyone has an interest in them.
